Superfine Plaster Of Paris

Superfine Plaster of Paris is a very popular chemical substance that is mostly used for sculpting and also in gauze bandages and it is used by doctors to support fractured bones. There are many uses of Plaster of Paris in our day to day life as it is used in construction industry, in making casts for statues and making designs for ceilings and as Plaster on the Walls. It is used in Paint Industry as crack filler to repair and fix various gaps, holes and cracks in drywalls, Plaster walls and ceilings. Plaster of Paris is a white color free flowing powder. 

Direction for use

Add 2 cups of plaster of Paris to 1 cup of clean portable water. If you need a larger batch, increase the amounts accordingly. Pour the water into a mixing bowl; slowly add superfine plaster of Paris to the water, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches the desired consistency. Apply this paste using a Putty knife. After 4-6 hours of drying the surface can be smoothed using an emery paper. (This is applicable for repairing the crack; gaps in cement wall and plaster ceilings).

Note

(Do not add it to cement because it will set the cement too fast and make it non workable. It is not a water-resistant substance. It is a notably dry and porous substance. Whenever it is uncovered in water, it will soak up .Superfine Plaster of Paris is an extraordinarily porous cloth when dried, and as such, will take in any new water that touches its surface.) It is not an internally water resistant and should not be used in any application that will be subject to moisture exposure. Due to its low solubility in water, it is advisable not to use it in wet or humid environments.
