Surface & Putty Preparation
- All Surfaces should be between 40°F (4°C) and 90°F (32°C) temp.
- New Surface requires preparation such as removal of dust, dirt. In case of cracks, voids & damages it must be repaired. Surface should be in just-wet condition, prior to putty application.
- For Old Painted Surface, Scrub the surface with coarse wire brush/sand paper and clean thoroughly so that it is free from all loose material, organic growth, dirt, dust etc and old paint till the cementitious/plastered surface is visible. Surface could be washed with water, however. Ensuring that surface should be in just-wet condition, prior to putty application.
- Mix Chennai Paints wall putty slowly in a clean container adding 35-40% water by volume to prepare paste of desired consistency. Mix vigorously for 5-10 minutes for making lump free and uniform paste.
- Product should be mixed in such quantities that it could be used within 2 hrs of its preparation
- Mixing can be done manually or by suitable electronic mixer
